Fugitive who sent manifesto to Trump captured in Wisconsin

The Wisconsin fugitive who allegedly robbed a gun shop and sent a manifesto to President Trump has been arrested after a more than weeklong manhunt.

Officials said the fugitive, Joseph Jakubowski, was captured while camping on a Wisconsin farmer’s property, ABC News reported. Between 100 and 125 officers were involved in taking Jakubowski into custody.

Authorities have been attempting to locate Jakubowski, who was considered “armed and dangerous,” for over a week after he allegedly stole 18 guns from a weapons store near Janesville, Wis., on April 4.

Jakubowski also allegedly sent a manifesto to the president that contained anti-government and anti-religious language, according to ABC.

Authorities said the farmer contacted police with a complaint that Jakubowski refused to leave his property. 

The owner did not recognize that Jakubowski was a wanted fugitive until after authorities asked to identify the suspect with a picture.

Local authorities said they established a perimeter once they felt comfortable the suspect had been identified, making contact shortly before 6 a.m. before taking the suspect into custody without incident.
