President Trump’s tweets aren’t drawing as much engagement as they used to, according to a study by the Associated Press.
The AP analysis, done in partnership with the analytics nonprofit Cortico, found that the number of people engaging with Trump’s tweets on his personal @realDonaldTrump account has declined through the first 100 days of his presidency.
{mosads}The analysis also found men were more likely to retweet the president than women. And left-leaning users were more likely to reply to the tweets than right-leaning users.
The report noted that some of Trump’s trademark tweeting techniques — such as adding multiple exclamation marks or mentioning the words “Russia” and “fake news” — still spark more interaction than other tweets without them.
“It is an incredible way for him to communicate directly with the American people, and the world 24 hours a day, seven days a week, right from his fingertips,” said Dan Scavino, Trump’s social media director.
The analysis examined the president’s 495 tweets from his personal account in the first 100 days in office.
