Police: Philippines incident was robbery, not terrorism
Philippines police said Thursday’s attack at a casino in Manila was robbery and that there was no evidence of terrorism, according to The Associated Press.
The report comes after President Trump labeled the incident a terror attack during his announcement on the U.S.’s departure from the Paris climate accord.
{mosads}”Our thoughts and our prayers are with all of those affected,” Trump said in the White House Rose Garden. “It is really very sad as to what’s going on throughout the world with terror.” Trump said he is “closely monitoring” the situation.
The Philippines police chief also said there were no confirmed reports of gunshot wounds. One gunman involved in the attack is still at large, according to police. The State Department said no U.S. citizens were involved in the incident.
