Clinton: Trump’s decision to leave climate accord a ‘historic mistake’
Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton on Thursday called President Trump’s decision to leave the Paris climate accord a “historic mistake” that “leaves American workers” behind.
“The world is moving forward together on climate change. Paris withdrawal leaves American workers & families behind,” the former secretary of State wrote on Twitter.

{mosads}Clinton’s comments came hours after Trump announced that the U.S. would withdraw from the 195-nation agreement.
Clinton’s criticism echoed that of former President Barack Obama and other leaders, who cast the decision to leave the pact as an abdication of the United States’ leadership role in the world.
As a presidential candidate, Clinton advocated for the deal, while Trump vowed to pull away, arguing that it would ultimately harm the U.S. economy and kill jobs. The pact entered into force last fall.
