Haley: I wouldn’t make calls from Russian embassy

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley on Sunday would not confirm a report that White House adviser Jared Kushner wanted to use the Russian embassy to make secure phone calls to the Kremlin, but she said would not have done that.

“I don’t know that to be fact. So I can’t sit there and agree with an assumption that you’re saying,” Haley told CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union.”

{mosads}“What I can tell you is no, I wouldn’t do that. But at the same time, I’m not in that inner circle in the administration. I do my job at the United Nations, and Jared continues to do his job there at the White House. And until we see facts, it’s hard to respond to something like that,” she continued.

The Trump administration finds itself under increased scrutiny as investigators look into possible ties between the president’s campaign and Russia.

Kushner, President Trump’s son-in-law, reportedly told Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak that he wanted to set up a back channel for communicating with the Kremlin during the transition. The White House has since defended Kushner.
