CNN senior legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin said fired FBI Director James Comey’s dramatic opening statement to Congress establishes that President Trump obstructed justice.
“Comey’s statement establishes obstruction of justice by Trump. Period,” Toobin tweeted, moments after Comey released the opening statement he will deliver in testimony Thursday.

{mosads}Comey’s opening statement comes one day ahead of his highly anticipated testimony to the Senate Intelligence Committee, his first public appearance since Trump fired him.
The former FBI director will confirm reports that President Trump pressed him to “let go” of the bureau’s investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn.
Comey’s statement says Trump pressed him to “lift the cloud” of the FBI’s investigation into Russian election interference and said to him: “I need loyalty. I expect loyalty.”
