RNC chairwoman knocks Comey’s ‘questionable’ character
The chairwoman of the Republican National Committee (RNC) on Sunday questioned James Comey’s character, pointing to the former FBI director’s testimony that he released memos to The New York Times.
“It shows how questionable his character is,” Ronna Romney McDaniel said on “Fox News Sunday.”
“I think it’s proof the president made the right choice in firing Director Comey,” she added.
{mosads}Comey last week told the Senate Intelligence Committee that he asked a friend to release information from personal memos on his conversations with President Trump to The New York Times.
McDaniel on Sunday also defended the RNC’s decision to set up a “war room” in response to growing scrutiny surrounding the White House in the probe into Russian election meddling.
“We’re going to push harder to make sure the American people are hearing a different narrative,” McDaniel said.
The RNC is always going to defend and support the president, she added.
