Twitter mocks Sessions for referencing ‘Jewish AIPAC event’
Social media users on Tuesday turned Attorney General Jeff Sessions’s referencing “the Jewish AIPAC event” into a meme.
Testifying before the Senate Intelligence Committee about the panel’s probe into Russian election interference, Sessions mentioned being excited to attend a President Trump speech because the only time he’d heard him speak prior to that was “at the Jewish AIPAC event.”
{mosads}He was referencing the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) conference, an annual event held by one of the U.S.’s leading pro-Israel groups. Trump spoke at the 2016 conference.
Twitter users quickly seized on Sessions’s turn of phrase:
Sessions says he also saw Trump speak at "the Jewish AIPAC event"

“The Jewish AIPAC event”?? That’s a no-no. Doesn’t Sessions know he’s supposed to day “The pro-Israel AIPAC event"???

"The Jewish AIPAC event — where the president spoke — to an audience of Jewish people — did I mention Ivanka is Jewish?"

AG Sessions won’t have won any friends with his description of the "Jewish AIPAC event”
It was a "which century are we in?” moment
