Ex-aide: Trump ‘frustrated’ by Russia probe

Anthony Scaramucci, a former adviser on President Trump’s transition team, said on Tuesday that the president has become increasingly “frustrated” by the ongoing probes into possible collusion between his campaign and Moscow.

“I think what’s going on inside the administration is some level of frustration that they’re trying to execute the president’s agenda on healthcare, tax reform, issues related to deregulation — all these things which are affecting positively the stock market,” Scaramucci told MSNBC’s Chuck Todd.

“But they’re getting ensnared in what I’ve been calling ‘scandals incorporated,'” he added, saying that former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton would have likely faced investigations of her own had she won the White House.

Trump’s first several months in office have been shadowed by mounting controversies regarding the FBI investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election and possible ties between the Trump campaign and Moscow.

The president himself has frequently assailed the FBI probe, as well as congressional investigations into the matter, as a “witch hunt” fueled by Democrats as an excuse for Clinton’s electoral loss.

“I think there’s growing frustration by our president — because he’s your president and my president — our president is frustrated that he can’t get his agenda up to the Hill, but he can get ‘scandals incorporated,’ ‘investigations incorporated’ in a nonstop manner,” Scaramucci said.
