Warren cautions Dems against infighting

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) warned constituents against infighting among Democrats during a town hall in Lowell, Mass. this week, saying that “we can’t be spending out energy shouting at each other.”

“I get it,” Warren said referring to Democrat’s recent losses in special elections, according to a report by the Boston Herald.

“The one thing we’ve got to do is we’ve got to keep in mind that we can’t be spending our energy shouting at each other,” she continued. “Boy, now more than ever we have got to keep our eye on what the Republican majority in the House and Senate and Donald Trump in the White House will do to America.”

Warren’s comments follow Democrat losses in Georgia, Montana and South Carolina special elections to fill vacant seats left by lawmakers appointed to the Trump administration.

Many Democrats after the elections have come out to critique the party and its strategy. One such Democrat was Rep. Seth Moulton (Mass.) whom Warren mentioned after the town hall.

“Seth makes a very legitimate point,” Warren said after the town hall. “He wants to see leadership evolve. That’s fine. I just want to be really clear that we’re not firing at each other.­ There are always changes. When I came into the Senate, Harry Reid was the leader. … Now it’s Chuck Schumer. The leadership team has changed. I understand there are changes.”
