Obama’s tweet after Charlottesville becomes the most-liked tweet ever

Former President Obama’s tweet sharing a message against racism is officially the most-liked tweet ever.

Obama posted a tweet sharing a quote from Nelson Mandela that condemned racism just hours after a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va., turned violent. Heather Heyer, 32, was killed and at least 19 others were injured.

The tweet became the most popular of all time on Tuesday night, with more than 2.7 million likes, three days after it was posted.

“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion…” Obama wrote in the tweet.

The tweet beats out Ariana Grande’s message to fans after a deadly explosion at her concert in Manchester earlier this year.{mosads}

The tweet is the seventh-most retweeted, still trailing Ellen DeGeneres’s famous Oscar selfie and a teenager who won free chicken nuggets from Wendy’s for having the most retweets ever, according to the Twitter tracking-site Favstar.
