Trump and first lady Melania Trump traveled to Texas on Saturday to meet with storm victims at a center that provided temporary shelter for those forced to evacuate from the area.
The couple handed out food and played with children at the center.
“People appreciate what’s been done. It’s been done very efficiently and very well,” Trump said after the visit to the center, according to a White House pool report.
“As tough as this was [the response] has been a wonderful thing, I think, even for the country to watch.”
Trump’s second visit to Texas comes after he was criticized for not personally meeting storm victims during his initial visit to the state earlier this week.
At least 47 people have now died as a result of the storm.
