Buccaneers wide receiver slams Trump for NFL comments

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Desean Jackson blasted President Trump on Saturday, asserting athletes’ right free speech after the president criticized NFL players that protest the national anthem at football games.

“How is it that players taking a kneel is disrespectful to our country but that clown that’s suppose to be our president Can call us players that have a voice and a stand to freedom sons of a bi—,” he wrote in a pair of tweets. “I don’t get it!! What happen to a free country.”

Trump faced backlash from professional athletes and sports executives on Saturday, after taking aim at football players who protest the national anthem during a Friday night rally in Huntsville, Ala.

“Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a b—- off the field right now. He is fired,'” Trump said in a fiery speech Friday.

The president doubled down on that criticism on Saturday, writing on Twitter that players that take a knee during the national anthem should be fired.
