Pelosi changes the subject, refuses CIA questions

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) refused to answer any questions today about her accusations that the CIA lied to her about the use of enhanced interrogation techniques.

“I have made the statement I’m going to make on this, and I don’t have anything more to say about it,” she said at her weekly press conference.

Emphasizing domestic policy, the speaker said she would not allow her agenda to be derailed by questions about what she knew about interrogation practices and when she knew it.

“What we’re doing it staying on our course and not being distracted by it,” Pelosi said.

Pelosi has previously called for the CIA to release notes from her 2002 classified briefing. Interestingly, she did not repeat that request today.

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) has called for Pelosi to either produce evidence that she was lied to or apologize to the CIA. Some Republicans are calling for an investigation into Pelosi’s statements.
