Spicer on public life after the White House: ‘I get treated better’
Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer revealed in an interview published on Wednesday that he has received better treatment in public since leaving the Trump administration.
“I can count on one hand the number of publicly negative experiences I’ve had,” Spicer told Politico of life after the White House. He added, “100 percent, I get treated better.”
As one of the faces of the Trump administration, Spicer faced scrutiny from critics in public for defending the president and the administration on a slew of issues.

The interview comes months after Spicer left his White House post in July following Anthony Scaramucci’s appointment as communications director. Scaramucci also left his post only two weeks later.
Spicer garnered headlines during one of his first days on the job in January when he lambasted the press during a briefing for its coverage of the crowd size at President Trump’s inauguration.
Spicer’s press briefings drew large audiences for cable news, and became the subject of numerous “Saturday Night Live” parodies, in which he was portrayed by actress Melissa McCarthy.
The former press secretary told ABC News in July he felt “relieved” after he resigned from his White House post.
Spicer has sought to maintain a somewhat public profile, giving lectures at Harvard’s Kennedy School and even making a surprise appearance at the Emmy Awards in September.
