Gunman in high-rise opens fire on Reno street
A gunman opened fire from the eighth floor of a condominium in Reno, Nev. on Tuesday night before he was shot and killed as a SWAT team closed in on him, according to police.
It is not clear who fired at the gunman, who has not been publicly identified.
Authorities said he was holding a hostage as he opened fire on the street below for 20 minutes from the luxury high-rise, called the Montage, which is near various casinos.
Authorities have described the gunman as a young adult, according to The Associated Press.
No additional injuries were reported.
The shooting comes nearly two months after Stephen Paddock opened fire on thousands of concertgoers in Las Vegas from the Mandalay Bay Hotel, killing 58 people and injuring 500 others.
That incident was the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.
