Obama visits DC Boys & Girls Club

Former President Barack Obama, donning a Santa hat, stopped by a branch of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington on Thursday.

The former president paid a visit to the Jelleff Club in Northeast Washington, where he visited with about 50 middle school students taking part in after-school activities, The Washington Post reported.

During the visit, which lasted about half an hour, Obama brought gifts and posed for a photo with the students. He tweeted about the experience shortly after.

“There’s no better time than the holiday season to reach out and give back to our communities,” he tweeted. “Great to hear from young people at the Boys & Girls Club in DC today.”

Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama have remained in D.C. this year while their younger daughter Sasha finishes school.

The Obamas have paid multiple visits to schools and community centers since leaving the White House early this year.
