President Trump hit the golf course on his first full day in Florida during his visit to Mar-a-Lago for the winter holidays.
Trump arrived at Trump International Golf Club shortly after 9 a.m., according to White House pool reports.
Pool reporters and others on Twitter noted that today marks the 108th day Trump has spent at one of his properties since taking office in January, as well as his 83rd trip to a golf course as president.
Trump emphasized that he is on a “working vacation” while in Florida. He often works from his golf properties.
{mosads}Trump broke tradition on Friday when he departed Washington, D.C., for the holidays without holding a year-end press conference.
A White House official who declined to be named said Friday that Trump and his team passed on the press conference because they did not want to detract from positive media coverage after the passing of the GOP’s tax-reform plan, which Trump signed into law Friday.
While in transit, the president announced his support for Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.), who is considering a run to be Florida’s governor.
“Congressman Ron DeSantis is a brilliant young leader, Yale and then Harvard Law, who would make a GREAT Governor of Florida. He loves our Country and is a true FIGHTER!” Trump tweeted.
