Man charged with threatening the president after allegedly saying he was going to ‘blow up’ White House

A Kansas man was charged Wednesday with threatening the president after allegedly saying he was going to “blow up” the White House.

Brandon Koss was charged Wednesday and is now in federal custody, The Kansas City Star reported.

According to the report, Koss — who was already known to the Secret Service — allegedly made a call to the White House early on Jan. 26.

{mosads}”I’m going to blow up the White House,” he allegedly told the operator.

After the Secret Service traced the call, an agent went to his last known address, but Koss refused to go to the door and agreed only to speak to the agent over the phone, an affidavit said, according to the Star.

He told the agent during the call that he made a call to the White House to report terrorism, the Star reported. But Koss said he didn’t make the alleged threat to the White House.

There will be a hearing Friday in U.S. District Court, according to the Star.
