Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi (R) said late Wednesday that the state will pay the funeral expenses of the victims of a mass shooting at a high school near Fort Lauderdale.
Bondi during a news conference called the shooting a “horrible tragedy.”
“Sadly, we’ve been through this before,” she said.

“We will pay for the funeral expenses of these poor victims and do everything we can to help their families.”
She added that the state of Florida will pay for counseling for the survivors.
At least 17 people were killed Wednesday after a shooting broke out at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. The suspect in the shooting was charged Thursday with 17 counts of premeditated murder, according to multiple reports.
In the hours immediately after the shooting, multiple Democratic lawmakers have called for Congress to act.
President Trump on Wednesday offered his prayers and condolences to the victims of the shooting.
