Tony Bennett sings Michelle Obama’s praises
Tony Bennett lit up the Warner Theater Wednesday night for a Democratic National Committee fundraiser, at one point literally singing first lady Michelle Obama’s praises.
“I’d like to say something about our wonderful first lady,” Bennett said after singing three songs. The crooner explained Michelle Obama had fed the homeless and asked for it not to be made public. “She insisted, ‘please, don’t put this in the paper.'”
He then dedicated a song to the “AIG guys.” The lyrics of which included, “Kiss the sweet good life goodbye.”
The audience reacted with raucus laughter and clapping.
Other songs he sung inlcuded the well-known, “The best is yet to come,” “Fly me to the moon”, and “I left my heart in San Francisco.”
Bennett rallied for the Democratic Party, saying, ” I’ve always been a Democrat. Believe me, we’ve got to keep the Democrats in.”
