New York Post cover mocks FBI’s ‘strip search’ of Cohen’s office

The New York Post’s cover for Tuesday shows a picture of Stormy Daniels with the headline “Strip Search,” mocking the FBI raid of Michael Cohen, President Trump’s personal attorney who made a $130,000 payment to the adult-film star in 2016.

On Monday, the FBI raided Cohen’s office and home, reportedly seizing emails, tax documents and records related to his payment to Daniels, which came just weeks before Trump’s election.

“Feds raid Trump lawyer who paid off porn star,” the top of the New York Post cover reads. 

“Strip Search,” text says underneath in all caps.

{mosads}Cohen’s lawyer, Stephen Ryan, said in a statement Monday that federal prosecutors in Manhattan obtained a search warrant after receiving a referral “in part” from special counsel Robert Mueller. Ryan called the search “completely inappropriate and unnecessary.” 

The New York Times reported that the payment to Daniels is just one of “many topics” being looked at by the FBI.

Other seized documents include business records and communications between Cohen and Trump, but the raid does not appear to be directly connected to Mueller’s probe of Russian meddling in the 2016 election, according to the Times.

Daniels — whose real name is Stephanie Clifford — filed a lawsuit earlier this year claiming that a nondisclosure agreement she signed regarding an alleged affair with Trump is invalid because Trump never signed it.

Her lawyer on Sunday filed a renewed motion to depose Trump and Cohen over the payment, which critics say may have been a violation of campaign finance law.
