Trump shares condolences for Florida deputies killed in suspected ambush
President Trump on Thursday tweeted his condolences to the families of two Florida sheriff’s deputies who were killed in what police say was an ambush-style attack in downtown Trenton, Fla.
The two unnamed deputies were shot and killed through a restaurant window Thursday afternoon by a suspect who was later apprehended, according to a Facebook post from the Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office.

Police responding to the scene apprehended the suspect, whose name has not been released, and found the two officers who died of their injuries at the scene, according to the post.
In a separate post, the Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office wrote that Thursday’s attack was a “terrible tragedy,” and that more information on the shooting would be released.
Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) also responded to the shooting on Twitter, stating that he had offered his administration’s support to the sheriff’s office.
“I was just briefed by @GCSOFlorida Sheriff Bobby Schultz on today’s shooting. I know @FDLEPIO is on scene and I’ve offered any state support they may need,” Scott tweeted.
