George HW Bush eager to get well: spokesman
George H.W. Bush’s spokesman said in a new interview that the former president, who is hospitalized in intensive care, is eager to get well.
Jim McGrath told The Associated Press that Bush wants to finish his recovery and return to the family’s summer home in Kennebunkport, Maine.

The former president is “responding to treatments and appears to be recovering,” McGrath said.
“He’s the most goal-oriented person on this planet,” McGrath added.
Bush was admitted to a Houston hospital with an infection on Sunday, one day after the funeral of his wife, former first lady Barbara Bush, who died last week. On Friday, George H.W. Bush greeted well-wishers from across the country.
“President Bush was admitted to the Houston Methodist Hospital yesterday morning after contracting an infection that spread to his blood,” his office said in a statement late Monday.
First lady Melania Trump, who attended Barbara Bush’s funeral, issued a statement wishing the former president a speedy recovery.
“Healing thoughts of strength, along with prayers, for President George HW Bush tonight,” she tweeted Monday evening.
George H.W. Bush, 93, has been admitted to the hospital several times over the last year, including brief stays to battle pneumonia in January and April 2017.
