Monica Lewinsky says magazine disinvited her from event after Bill Clinton confirmed attendance

Monica Lewinsky said that she was disinvited from an event after former President Clinton confirmed that he was attending the same event.

HuffPost reported Wednesday that Town & Country magazine revoked its invitation to Lewinsky for its annual philanthropy summit after Clinton said he would attend.

Lewinsky called out the company for doing so in a tweet Wednesday, but did not identify what event it was.

The Hill has reached out to Town & Country for comment.

Clinton’s affair with Lewinsky during his presidency later led to his impeachment. Lewinsky now works as an anti-bullying advocate.

The magazine tweeted about Clinton’s appearance at the event, during which he introduced Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting survivor Emma González.

Clinton’s spokesman tweeted Wednesday that neither Clinton “nor his staff knew anything about the invitation or it being rescinded.”

The magazine later tweeted an apology for the “situation.”

“We apologize to Ms. Lewinsky and regret the way the situation was handled,” the magazine tweeted.
