HuffPost reported on Wednesday that Town & Country had revoked Lewinsky’s invitation to its annual philanthropy summit after the former president said he would be in attendance.
While she did not identify what event she was disinvited from, Lewinsky on Wednesday called out the company in a tweet.
dear world:
please don’t invite me to an event (esp one about social change) and –then after i’ve accepted– uninvite me because bill clinton then decided to attend/was invited.
it’s 2018.
emily post would def not approve.

p.s. …and definitely, please don’t try to ameliorate the situation by insulting me with an offer of an article in your mag.

Clinton and Lewinsky had an affair during his presidency when she was an intern. The fallout from the scandal in part led to his impeachment.
Lewinsky now works as an anti-bullying advocate.
Clinton’s spokesman said on Wednesday that neither Clinton “nor his staff knew anything about the invitation or it being rescinded.”
President Clinton was invited to address the Town & Country Philanthropy Summit. He gladly accepted. Neither he nor his staff knew anything about the invitation or it being rescinded. https://t.co/iZ0xtG4OvQ
