Vicente Fox cheers Trump Twitter ruling: ‘I’ll be watching you’
Former Mexican President Vicente Fox celebrated a federal judge’s ruling on Wednesday that President Trump can’t block people from viewing his social media feed over their political views.
“Yass!” Fox tweeted at Trump. “I just want to say: every step you take, every move you make … I’ll be watching you.”

Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald ruled Wednesday that it’s unconstitutional for Trump to block people who respond to his tweets with differing opinions. Such an action, Buchwald ruled, constitutes viewpoint discrimination and violates the First Amendment.

“No First Amendment harm arises when a government’s ‘challenged conduct’ is simply to ignore the [speaker], as the Supreme Court has affirmed ‘that it is free to do,'” she wrote. “Stated otherwise, ‘a person’s right to speak is not infringed when government simply ignores that person while listening to others,’ or when the government ‘amplifies’ the voice of one speaker over those of others.”
Though it’s unclear if Fox has ever actually been blocked by Trump, the president has blocked dozens of well-known individuals from viewing his Twitter feed, including supermodel Chrissy Teigen, author Stephen King and comedian Rosie O’Donnell.
Fox has long been an outspoken critic of the president, often using social media to criticize him over his policies.
Fox has repeatedly hit Trump over his campaign promise to build a U.S.-Mexico border wall and force Mexico to pay for it. Fox even promoted a T-shirt depicting Trump as a baby building a wall from toy bricks on Twitter back in April.
The clothing’s caption read: “Can’t Build A Wall If Your Hands Are Too Small.”
