Schwarzenegger takes hit at Michigan GOP for using incorrect map to ‘mislead people’

Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) fired back at the Michigan Republican Party after he said the group used an incorrect map of Los Angeles congressional districts to “mislead people” about gerrymandering.

{mosads}The Michigan GOP posted a picture on Monday of the so-called Independent Commission-mapped districts.

The color-coded map shows large sections of districts being carved out along Los Angeles, Santa Monica Bay and San Bernardino.

Schwarzenegger, however, said the party was trying to “mislead people” by using the wrong map.

“In case you guys need help, this is the map you meant to use,” the former actor tweeted. “I found this on my machine in about 30 second. Try harder next time, and don’t mislead people.”

The Republican slammed the Michigan GOP for wanting to “keep the status quo” of politicians who pick their voters based on district.

“Fair districts work for voters, not parties,” Schwarzenegger said of the map. “CA’s leg approval is 44% — up from 14% pre-reform.”

Schwarzenegger is often critical of his own party.

In March, he compared the California GOP to a sinking ship.

“Today we are the Titanic, after it hit the iceberg, but before the last bit of the ship submerged. But unlike the Titanic, we might be able to save Leonardo DiCaprio before he goes under,” Schwarzenegger said.

The former “Terminator” star has also had an ongoing feud with President Trump, with the president mocking Schwarzenegger over the ratings for “Celebrity Apprentice,” the NBC reality show for which Schwarzenegger took over as host after Trump left.

Before the presidential election in 2016, Schwarzenegger said he would not vote for Trump

“For the first time since I became a citizen in 1983, I will not vote for the Republican candidate for president,” he said at the time.
