Rep. Broun, Ministers Anoint Walkway for Obama
Rep. Paul Broun (R-Ga.) and two Christian ministers consecrated the hallway in the Capitol that Barack Obama will walk through Tuesday on his way to be sworn in as president.
Broun, Rev. Rob Schenck of the National Clergy Council and the Rev. Patrick Mahoney of the Christian Defense Coalition also said several prayers for Obama and his family, including the inaugural prayer led by Rev. Billy Graham during the inauguration of President Nixon in 1969. Broun and the ministers had the brief ceremony taped and they posted the video on YouTube last week.
In the video, Schenck anoints the doors of the walkway with oil and Broun says that leaders need to “serve the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Broun has said less kind words toward Obama; after the Democrat’s victory in November, Broun called Obama a “Marxist” and said that he would fight him and his policies.
