NJ woman vows to pop ‘Trump baby’ blimp

A Trump supporter is vowing to pop the “Trump baby” blimp if protesters bring it to New Jersey.

Trump supporter Kathie Kitt Conklin in Manchester, N.J. said she will pop the blimp, according to the Asbury Park Press, and had started a GoFundMe page for bail money in case she is arrested. The page was later removed, however, for reportedly not meeting the crowd-funding platform’s terms of service.

The blimp, which depicts President Trump as a baby, drew attention earlier this month when protesters flew it over Britain’s Parliament during Trump’s visit to the country.

New Jersey activist Didier Jimenez-Castro, who was inspired by the demonstration, is looking to bring the 20-foot inflatable orange baby to Bedminster, N.J., home to one of the president’s golf courses. The president regularly spends weekends at the Bedminster club.

Jimenez-Castro’s effort to get the blimp has raised almost $20,000 well above the $4,500 goal on its GoFundMe page.

That’s inspired the president’s backers to try and thwart his plans.

One man is reportedly seeking $4,500 to fly balloons reading “Make America Great Again” to counter the protesters.

Jimenez-Castro, who works full time at a homeless shelter, told the Bridgewater Courier News that he’s been receiving calls at his job from Trump supporters demanding he be fired.

“I love my job. It is everything to me,” Jimenez-Castro told the local newspaper. “I respect my full-time job. That’s where I get my happiness from. I was told to keep my work and my activism separate and I do.”

Jimenez-Castro told NJ.com earlier this month that he is in the process of ordering the blimp and expects it to arrive by mid-August.
