Woman denounces white father accused of killing black woman: ‘He’s the true definition of evil’

The family of a Kansas man who was charged with the murder of a black woman earlier this month say they were not surprised he was involved.

Crystal Foster, the daughter of Ronald Lee Kidwell, the man accused of murdering MeShon Cooper, said her father used to wear a Confederate flag and send her photos of the swastika tattoo on his left arm.

Earlier this month, Kidwell was charged with second-degree murder in the slaying of 43-year-old Cooper, who had reportedly been missing for a week until police discovered her body in Kidwell’s residence on July 14, according to a report published by the Kansas City Star on Monday.

{mosads}Kidwell’s bond was reportedly set at $1 million.

Foster said her father, who allegedly bragged about being a member of the Ku Klux Klan, once even threatened to kill her and her three children “if I ever spoke to a person of color.”

“He’s been a monster his whole life,” she said. “He’s the true definition of evil.”

Foster said her father, who has a history of assaults, targets victims based on their race.

“He pretends to be ‘colored people’s’ friends and then he harms them,” Foster told the publication, noting that she is using her father’s language.

According to the Star, Kidwell was charged with second-degree assault in 2011 after he assaulted a sleeping black woman with a hammer and demanded she demanded she take her pants off before he sexually assaulted her.

Kidwell later pleaded guilty to the attack and was sentenced to five years in prison.

“Kidwell stated that he has been diagnosed with HIV and did not use a condom during the sexual activity,” police wrote in records obtained by the publication.

Foster said her father would brag about the assaults and appeared to enjoy his crimes.

Kidwell’s cousin, Shana Turner, said much of his family disowned him over his racist views.

“Whenever I was around him, he’d talk about white power,” Turner said, adding that “it didn’t surprise me that [the victim] was black.”

A GoFundMe account created for Cooper’s son has raised $1,090 of a $2,000 goal as of Monday afternoon.
