Fallon: ‘Trump called Omarosa a dog,’ then ‘rolled over for Putin’
“Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon mocked President Trump Tuesday evening for referring to former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman as a “dog,” joking that it was in fact Trump who “rolled over” for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Reading the president’s tweet from earlier in the day, Fallon said: “When you give a crazed, crying lowlife a break, and give her a job at the White House, I guess it just didn’t work out. Good work by General Kelly for quickly firing that dog!”
{mosads}“Yeah, Trump called Omarosa a dog. Then he rolled over for Putin, barked at his staff and ate a bunch of paper,” Fallon joked.
“Actually, everyone in the White House feels like a dog, because one year with Trump feels like seven,” he added.
Trump was criticized for his tweet aimed at his former White House staffer, with many taking offense to his pejorative use of the word “dog” to describe a black woman.
The president has been on the offensive against Manigault Newman over the release of her tell-all book “Unhinged” this week, which makes a number of critical claims about Trump, including the assertion that a recording exists of Trump using racial slurs during a taping of “The Apprentice.”
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was questioned about the existence of the tape at Tuesday’s daily press briefing.
“I can’t guarantee anything,” Sanders said when asked if the public could be assured they would not hear a recording of Trump making the remarks.
Trump personally denied the claim Monday night in a tweet, saying “Apprentice” creator Mark Burnett had called him “to say that there are NO TAPES of the Apprentice where I used such a terrible and disgusting word as attributed by Wacky and Deranged Omarosa.”
