Coulter: I haven’t seen a worse negotiator than Trump
Conservative commentator Ann Coulter said Tuesday that she’s never seen a worse dealmaker than President Trump.
Coulter, who has frequently voiced approval for the president’s policies, made the comments to the Washington Examiner while speaking about Trump’s lack of productivity on immigration legislation.
{mosads}Coulter said it runs counter to the image he’s propped up of himself as a successful negotiator.
“I think those claims have been exaggerated,” Coulter told the news outlet. “Wow, I’ve never seen such a bad dealmaker.”
The news outlet notes that Coulter later praised Trump for his political “instincts.” But Coulter also said that Trump appears incapable of following through on his campaign promises related to immigration, such as building a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Trump has repeatedly called for stricter immigration laws throughout his presidency, and he’s threatened to shut down the government if the U.S. does not enhance border security measures.
“I saw him speaking to [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] yesterday and you know, I love him,” she said. “He should just be our spokesman. He should be forever our Republican spokesman. But somebody else has got to actually get it done.”
The critical comments from Coulter come as she promotes her new book,”Resistance is Futile! How the Trump-Hating Left Lost Its Collective Mind.”
