Joe Walsh: Trump Jr. is an ‘uncaring, narrow-minded idiot’

Former Republican lawmaker Joe Walsh tore into President Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., for mocking Senate Democrats over their reaction to sexual misconduct accusations made against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

“No matter your take on the accusations against Brett Kavanaugh, I think we all can agree that @DonaldJTrumpJr is an uncaring, narrow-minded idiot,” Walsh said of Trump Jr.

Walsh’s response came after Trump Jr. mocked Senate Democrats and Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) for their response to allegations that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted a woman in the 1980s.

“Oh boy… the Dems and their usual nonsense games really have him on the ropes now,” Trump Jr. wrote in an Instagram caption.

“[Feinstein] had the letter in July and saved it for the eve of his vote… honorable as always. I believe this is a copy for full transparency,” Trump Jr. added, posting a picture of a letter that reads, “Hi Cindy, will you be my girlfreind [sic].”

Christine Blasey Ford came forward and spoke publicly to The Washington Post on Sunday for the first time.

Ford, now a 51-year-old professor at Palo Alto University in California, alleged that Kavanaugh pinned her to a bed one summer in the 1980s while they were in high school, groped her and attempted to remove her clothing.

Ford’s account matched the details she described in a July letter to Feinstein, her senator from California.

CNN published the contents of the letter on Sunday night.

Ford’s lawyer said Monday that her client would be willing to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee about the allegations.

Walsh, who served a term in the United States House of Representatives for Illinois’s 8th Congressional District, criticized Democrats for trying to postpone the vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination.

“So Dems waited until the very last minute to drop this dirt, and now they want to wait again to hear from her?” Walsh wrote on Twitter amid calls for the committee to postpone a vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination until they can hear from his accuser.

“You don’t think they’re trying to drag this thing out do you?” Walsh added.

Kavanaugh has denied Ford’s claims, saying in a new statement on Monday that it is a “completely false allegation.”

“Because this never happened, I had no idea who was making this accusation until she identified herself yesterday,” Kavanaugh wrote, adding that he would be willing to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
