Megyn Kelly dropped by talent agency: report

Creative Artists Agency (CAA) has reportedly parted ways with Megyn Kelly one day after the NBC host drew criticism for comments she made on her show questioning whether the use of blackface on Halloween is racist.

The Hollywood Reporter reported late Tuesday that Kelly is no longer a client of the agency, though the report did not disclose the agency’s reason for ending its relationship with the NBC host. An industry source also confirmed the news to Variety. 

The report comes one day after Kelly apologized for remarks she made about blackface on her show, which were delivered during an all-white panel discussion about whether the practice was appropriate for Halloween costumes.

{mosads}“But what is racist?” Kelly said on her program early Tuesday. “You truly do get in trouble if you are a white person who puts on blackface at Halloween or a black person who puts on whiteface for Halloween.”

“Back when I was a kid, that was OK,” she added.

Hours after making the controversial comments, the host issued an apology in an interal email to NBC employees. 

“I am sorry,” Kelly wrote in the internal email provided by NBC. “I’ve never been a ‘PC’ [politically correct] kind of person, but I understand that we do need to be more sensitive in this day and age.” 

Kelly later delivered an on-air apology on Wednesday for the remarks.
