Protesters unveil pro-trans banner at World Series
Protesters unfurled a banner reading “Trans People Deserve to Live” during Sunday night’s World Series game.
The banner, designed to look like the flag representing transgender people, was dropped during the fifth inning of Game 5 between the Red Sox and the Dodgers from the upper deck at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

The banner appears to be a reference to the Trump administration weighing a change that would require individuals to identify as male or female based on their genitalia at birth.
{mosads}According to a recent New York Times report, the Department of Health and Human Services proposed in a memo that government agencies adopt a definition of gender saying that it is determined “on a biological basis that is clear, grounded in science, objective and administrable.”
The change would base sex on the genitals a person is born with, tightening legal definitions to eliminate transgender and gender-nonconforming individuals.
Approximately 1.4 million Americans who identify as members of the trans community would be affected by the change, according to the Times.
The banner at the game also follows the backlash President Trump received for commenting about Saturday night’s game hours after the shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue.
“Watching the Dodgers/Red Sox final innings. It is amazing how a manager takes out a pitcher who is loose & dominating through almost 7 innings, Rich Hill of Dodgers, and brings in nervous reliever(s) who get shellacked,” he tweeted.
“4 run lead gone. Managers do it all the time, big mistake!”
