Flight restrictions were ordered over the jail in Fulton County, Ga., where former President Trump is expected to surrender Thursday evening.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a notice to pilots warning they were prohibited from flying aircraft over a designated area surrounding the courthouse from 6:45-9 p.m. Thursday. The FAA specified certain exceptions to the restriction.
The notice lists the reason for the notice as “temporary flight restrictions for VIP movement.”
Trump has confirmed he plans to travel to Fulton County to turn himself in and be processed at a Georgia courthouse.
He and 18 co-defendants were charged in a sprawling Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) case that accuses Trump of leading a criminal enterprise to overturn the results of the 2020 election in Georgia to keep him in the White House.
Many of his co-defendants have already turned themselves in. Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (D), who unveiled the RICO indictment, set a Friday deadline for all 19 co-defendants to turn themselves in to be processed.
Trump, who faces 13 criminal charges in the indictment, agreed to a $200,000 bond on Monday.
