Albuquerque mayor wears Pantera Christmas sweater at bill signing
Tim Keller, the mayor of Albuquerque, N.M., showed his support for one of his favorite music groups at a bill-signing ceremony last week.
{mosads}While signing legislation to allow employees in the city be granted paid parental leave, the Democratic mayor sported a Pantera sweater.
Keller disclosed in a tweet celebrating the signing over the weekend that the sweater was gifted to him by Pantera bassist Rex Brown.
Thank you advocates @lissaknudsen and advocates @ABQCityCouncil and @PatDavisNM for the legislation for our families. And little shout out to @REJASFROMTEJAS for the sweater 🙂 #metalmayor @BLABBERMOUTHNET @metalinjection @Loudwire https://t.co/B8nmdkLPZ5

Brown, who also lives in Albuquerque, shared the news on his own verified Facebook account on Friday, while referring to Keller as his “buddy” and a “hella of a guy.”
Keller, a longtime fan of metal music, said in an interview with The New York Times last year that “Albuquerque has always been pretty strong on the heavy metal front.”
“What can I say, this is something I’ve been into for a long time,” he added.
