Ocasio-Cortez poses with incoming female members of Congress

Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) posted a photo Wednesday posing alongside several other women who will join the 116th Congress as new members on Thursday.

The photo, taken by Vanity Fair’s Martin Schoeller, shows Ocasio-Cortez standing next to fellow Reps.-elect Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.), Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), Deb Haaland (D-N.M.), Veronica Escobar (D-Texas) and Sharice Davids (D-Kan.).

{mosads}”We’re in the building. Swearing in tomorrow,” the incoming congresswoman added in the photo’s caption.

Ocasio-Cortez was elected to office in November’s midterms as the youngest woman to be elected to Congress. The incoming congresswoman garnered national attention earlier in 2018 after her shocking primary victory over incumbent Rep. Joseph Crowley (D-N.Y.).

She has since gained a substantial following online, attracting attention for her social media savvy.

Her photo, posted to Instagram on Wednesday, has been “liked” more than 230,000 times hours after its initial posting.
