Trump posts new ‘Game of Thrones’-themed meme about border wall
President Trump unveiled a new “Game of Thrones”-inspired meme on his official Instagram page Thursday, this time in support of his plan for a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.
The picture features the president’s face superimposed over an artist’s rendering of the metal slat fencing that the Department of Homeland Security has considered for installation along the border if Congress approves funding for the president’s border security proposal.
A request for comment from HBO was not immediately returned.
Some journalists who saw the post noted that Trump’s choice to link his border security proposal to “Game of Thrones” seemed odd, given that The Wall in the hit HBO show was destroyed in the final scene of the latest season of the show

are we just going to pretend that the wall, uh, works in GOT…? https://t.co/7de91tbf9y

Trump’s use of the meme comes just a day after a printout of a previous “Game of Thrones”-inspired photo originally created to advertise the Trump administration’s actions regarding Iran was printed out and displayed during a Cabinet meeting.
Despite the poster’s prominent position in Wednesday’s meeting, Trump did not address sanctions or the poster, and White House officials were unable to explain why it was in the room.
