The Harlem Globetrotters are offering free tickets to their upcoming tour for federal employees furloughed due to the partial government shutdown.

Government employees on furlough can receive the tickets at any Harlem Globetrotter game in North America by showing a valid government ID, the team said in a release.
{mosads}“As the Ambassadors of Goodwill, we want to show our support to all those government workers whose paychecks, and by extension their families, are directly impacted,” Globetrotter President Howard Smith said in the statement.
The 2019 Fan Powered North American tour will stop in 250 cities in North America and 30 other countries.
The Globetrotters are the latest celebrity group or organization to offer free entertainment or other aid to government workers during the partial shutdown, which has been ongoing for nearly four full weeks. An estimated 800,000 people are either furloughed or working without pay.
A New York comedy club announced this week that they are offering a free year of stand-up comedy to affected government workers.
The shutdown, now the longest in U.S. history, was triggered by an impasse over funding concerning President Trump’s demands for $5 billion for a border wall with Mexico.
