Sen. Landrieu in 80-mph Gusts
Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) is in Baton Rouge, braving 80 miles per hour gusts.
In an interview on Fox News, Landrieu said that “everybody is hunkered down, and no cars on the streets, and everybody is in.”
She added, “We can bear up against a storm like this, but if the levees break, all bets are off because the city will go under water. We don’t believe that will happen. The levees seem to hold. But you can see how close we came to over topping that upper-Ninth Ward levee.”
