The Opera House tweeted a photo of its Saturday night display, expressing sympathy for New Zealand.
“Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the tragic events in Christchurch,” the Opera House, a famous Australian monument, tweeted.
A 28-year-old Australian man has been charged with one count of murder and is expected to face more charges in connection with the attack.{mosads}

World leaders voiced support for those affected by the attack, and France’s Eiffel Tower went dark on Friday night as a tribute to the victims.
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison condemned Friday’s massacre as a “horrific terrorist attack.”
“Today I met with Muslim community leaders to offer my support & to share their deep sorrow over yesterday’s horrific terrorist attack,” he tweeted on Saturday. “This has rocked not only NZ but nations around the world, incl. ours. We stand together to condemn the hatred & intolerance behind this attack.”
