People across New Zealand will hear the Muslim call to prayer at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, a week after 50 people were killed in a pair of mosque shootings, according to The Associated Press.
The prayer will be followed by two minutes of silence, according to the AP.
{mosads}Thousands of people, including Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern will reportedly gather in a park near the Al Noor mosque where at least 42 people were killed. Local media will reportedly broadcast the event.
The suspected shooter, who has been arrested, reportedly posted a white supremacist and Islamophobic manifesto before allegedly massacring the worshippers in Christchurch, New Zealand.
New Zealand has banned semi-automatic weapons and assault rifles in response to the attack.
