Trump official participates in viral ‘What’s your name?’ tweet

President Trump’s Federal Communications Commission (FCC) chairman on Friday took part in a viral meme about the frustrations of having your name mispronounced or misspelled.

Ajit Pai sent out his own response to the “What’s your name?” meme, in which Twitter users reenact conversations they’ve had where others have repeatedly gotten their names wrong.

{mosads}”What’s your name?” Pai wrote.

“Ajit.”

“Bless you.”

“I wasn’t sneezing, that’s my name.”

“Oh, sorry. Say it again?”

“Ajit. A-J-I-T.”

“Agit. A-G-I-T.”

“No, A-J-I-T.”

“That’s what I said.”

[awkward pause]

“You’re just going to write down ‘Raj,’ aren’t you?” he tweeted.

Pai, who was named FCC chairman by Trump in 2017, was originally appointed as a commissioner to the body by former President Obama. Under Pai, the FCC successfully repealed Obama-era net neutrality rules that Democrats are now fighting to reinstate.

Iterations of the “What’s your name?” conversation have been circulating on Twitter for days, with other prominent figures, celebrities and brands sharing their own.
