SNL spoofs Meghan McCain on ‘The View’ as ‘the Princess of Arizona’

“Saturday Night Live” referred to Meghan McCain as the “Princess of Arizona” in a sketch that McCain called “hilarious.”

“This sketch is hilarious, and being parodied by @SNL is a huge pop cultural honor,” McCain tweeted on Sunday, linking to the sketch that aired on the NBC show on Saturday night. She signed the tweet “the princess of Arizona.”

{mosads}The “SNL” skit portrayed the co-hosts of ABC’s daytime talk show “The View,” including McCain as played by Aidy Bryant.

“Can I just say something as the princess of Arizona: there is a crisis at the border, and the border is right up in my Arizona,” Bryant’s “McCain” says in the skit.

The skit goes on to recreate a heated exchange between McCain and Joy Behar, as played by Kate McKinnon, that happened on the show last week.

Last Monday, McCain told Behar “part of your job is to listen to me,” during an exchange regarding immigration.

On the “SNL” skit, Bryant’s “McCain” repeats the phrase to McKinnon’s “Behar,” and Leslie Jones’s version of co-host Whoopi Goldberg uses a spray bottle on them in an attempt to end the argument.

“Stop it. We not going to do this,” Jones, as Goldberg, says in the skit. “This is ‘The View.’ We are five best friends with nothing in common.”
