Giuliani: Huckabee would have made ‘an excellent president’
President Trump’s attorney Rudy Giuliani praised former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) on Wednesday, saying that the former two-time White House contender would have been “an excellent President.”
Giuliani made the comment on Twitter ahead of his appearance Wednesday evening on Fox News, where he is set to be interviewed by Huckabee, now a Fox News contributor, who is subbing in for network host Laura Ingraham.{mosads}
“He is one of the most honorable men I’ve met in politics,” Giuliani wrote of Huckabee. “He would have made an excellent President. And is performing a vital role now.”
Tonight I am being interviewed by Mike Huckabee on Fox. He’s subbing for Laura. I ran against Mike in 2007-08 and we debated 11 times. He is one of the most honorable men I’ve met in politics. He would have made an excellent President. And is performing a vital role now.

Huckabee, who is also the father of White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, tweeted saying he would be guest-hosting Ingraham’s show on Wednesday.
I’m guest-hosting for my friend @IngrahamAngle 2nite @FoxNews at 10pmET, & expect Joe Biden on to compare hair-sniffing, neck-hugging, shoulder rubbing, face touching, & waist grabbing styles from his way to the “Southern” way. Ol’ Joe will learn himself something! Must see TV!

Giuliani’s praise of Huckabee also comes days after the former governor slammed Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah), the Republican Party’s presidential nominee in 2012, following Romney’s criticism of President Trump in the wake of the release of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report.
Romney tweeted Friday saying he was “sickened” by President Trump’s behavior as it was described in the partially-redacted special counsel report. Huckabee fired back, saying it made him “sick” that Romney could have been the president.
“Know what makes me sick, Mitt? Not how disingenuous you were to take @realDonaldTrump $$ and then 4 yrs later jealously trash him & then love him again when you begged to be Sec of State, but makes me sick that you got GOP nomination and could have been @POTUS,” Huckabee tweeted.
Huckabee, Romney and Giuliani all ran unsuccessfully for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination. Huckabee ran again in 2016.
