Carly Fiorina slams Trump: ‘He views women as something to be used’

Former Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina slammed President Trump’s treatment of women in an interview aired Tuesday. 

Fiorina said she believes the president is “dismissive of women,” but noted that he has placed many women in important roles.

“He’s so routinely dismissive of women, the way he talks about women,” she said on the Yahoo News show “Through Her Eyes.” “And on the other hand, he’s put a lot of women in really important jobs.”

{mosads}“I think he views women as something to be used,” the former Hewlett-Packard CEO continued. “On the other hand, I think he views people as something to be used.”

Fiorina, who became Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-Texas) presidential running mate after dropping out of the Republican primary race in 2016, also criticized how women are treated within the GOP. 

“I think the Republican Party routinely dismisses and diminishes women, to be honest with you,” she said. “If you look at the women senators in the Republican Party, they’re pretty much discounted until their vote is needed. That’s not OK.” 

She noted, however, that she believes that Democrats politicize women. 

“I think that Democrats have politicized women in a way that’s very unfortunate,” she said. 

Fiorina was extremely critical of Trump while they both ran for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination. On the campaign trail, Trump criticized Fiorina’s physical appearance in an interview with Rolling Stone. 

“Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?!” he said in an interview with the magazine. 

“I think women all over this country heard very clearly what Mr. Trump said,” she said in response to his comments during a debate.
