Hershey’s first redesign in 125 years will feature emojis

The iconic Hershey’s milk chocolate bar will get its first redesign in 125 years and feature emojis.

The company unveiled the “Emoji Bar” on Tuesday, featuring 25 of the most popular emojis in six different packaging designs.

“Our classic Hershey’s bars were made to be shared with others,” Kriston Ohm, senior manager of Hershey’s brand, said in a news release. “By adding an emoji design to each pip of chocolate, we hope that parents and kids are inspired to share a chocolate emoji and make a connection with someone new.”

Emojis will be featured on each of the squares, called a pip of chocolate. They were selected by parents and kids to help “spark a conversation.”

The emojis include the thumbs-up, ghosts and faces with winks and heart eyes, as well as the poop emoji.

The limited-edition candy bar will be available in stores this summer and will also be available “in the run up to back-to-school, while supplies last.”

Milton Hershey first sold chocolate bars in 1900 and the company is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year.
