Police: 2 in custody, BB gun found in backpack after school lockdown

A high school in Florida briefly went on lockdown Tuesday afternoon, with police saying they found a BB gun in a backpack and two people were in custody.

Police tweeted shortly before 2 p.m. that South Broward High School in Hollywood, Fla., had been placed on a Code Red lockdown “as a precaution.”

The lockdown was lifted about an hour and a half later, with police tweeting that they had found a BB gun in a suspect’s backpack.{mosads}

CBS Miami reported that officers had been responding to a threat, but did not say what the threat was.

The high school is located in Broward County in a suburb of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
